The signature reads "Renaer", which is a Flemish name. However, I have
a feeling that this painter was (or is) not an artist of renown. At
least, Google searches in four languages (English, Dutch, French and
German) have not produced any information about a painter named
Renaer. I'll search in the printed art encyclopedias in the library
tomorrow; maybe one of my colleagues will find information meanwhile.
