I have a USB barcode scanner. Once plugged in, Windows XP recognizes it and uses the standard Windows driver for a "Human Interface Device". I believe it is considered a keyboard input device? After the barcode scanner is installed it is ready to scan barcodes and decode the results into numbers. There is a certain two part barcode that is decoded with a space between the 13th and 14th digit. I need that space automatically removed. I've tried scanning each part of the barcode separately but that doesn't work. The whole barcode has to be scanned in order for the scanner to decode it. Is it possible to modify the Windows driver to eliminate that space? As an input device can a modified driver automatically "hit the backspace" whenever a space is encountered? My price low price is to get an idea if this is possible. I'm willing to pay additional for the modified driver. |
