Hi, If you do a search for "debenhams" on Google the the result at the top has a list of sub-links below it with and extra link at the bottom for "more results from ". Can you tell me if this is a paid service with Google or if there is some technique for developing a site so this happens automatically? I am hoping to to have sub-links for my companies varoius services displayed below the main link. Thanks. |

Hello aland01-ga, Unfortunately this is only a user interface experiment that has been happening over the last few months. Only the top site of any search is impacted, and there is currently no way for users to control this service. Source: http://www.searchengineforums.com/apps/searchengine.forums/action::thread/forum::google/thread::1153022726/ People have thought that it might be linked to the Google Sitemaps project: (found here: www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps ) but nobody has proven this yet. And for the official answer from a source linked to Google: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/ui-fun-better-snippets: "People who know Google well will go ?Cool? and move on. Other folks will ask things like ?Are sites or their links selected by hand?can my site get in on this? Is money involved?? And the answer is: it?s all algorithmic. The algorithms pick the sites where this could be helpful. Of course money isn?t involved at all." Please let me know if you require any clarification and I will do my best to further assist you. All the best, tisme-ga Search Strategy: google sub links google sitemaps google site maps google sub links matt cutts |
