Hello Walter46,

According to the results of my research, between 68 and 100 million
chest x-rays are performed each year in the United States.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a
non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S. Commerce Department's
Technology Administration, states that ?sixty-eight million chest
X-rays, or radiography, are performed each year to diagnose a variety
of medical conditions.?

750 million dental x-rays performed in the U.S. each year

Excerpt:

?Bone Diseases- Osteoporosis and related bone diseases affect
millions of Americans. The Committee encourages the Institute to
enhance its research efforts to compare bone loss in the oral cavity
with bone loss elsewhere in the body. With over 750 million dental
x-rays performed in the U.S. each year, there exists a source of
information that may be useful to such research. The Committee also
encourages NIDCR to enhance research on dentinogenesis imperfecta and
orthodontic manipulation in people with osteogenesis imperfecta.?
