UK BASED QUESTION - If someone has changed their name by Deed Poll and
we know the new name it was changed to how is it possible to find the
record of what it was changed from?

These docs are available at The National Archives in Kew.

But (from experience) it's not an easy job because, the only time I
have used this facility, it meant ploughing through lots of manual
registers.

However, this may depend on when the deed was executed.

I have already gone over that site as well as the gazette with no
luck. it would of been in the mid to late 90's or perhaps the eraly
2000's

Hi Again

TNA hold the records up to 1999 and these are stored in their Map
Room, where they can be viewed.

As I feared, there is no on-line access but they do have a paid
Research Service which can be arranged through their Website.

Later records are retained by the Court Service pending release to
TNA. Their contact number is 0207 947 6224. (If you are not in the UK,
our Country Code is 44 and you drop the first 0.)
