Why QNX v3.15 can be formatted on 486 processor but not on Pentimum processor?

I looked at the QNX site - www.qnx.com
These were the only OS software listed there.
QNX® Neutrino® RTOS
QNX4
Both these have 'Supported hardware/ processors' lists and both have
many versions. A cursory glance told me that the 386 EX is supported
by most versions - QNX4 4.25 through QNX4 4.21, except QNX4 4.11 which
supports ONLY 486.
I am unsure if this is what you are looking at. Please advise...

My question is what 486 and Pentium processor check/look when you
install an Operating System into a PC,in my case this would happen to
be QNX O.S.
Or, maybe you can explain to me, say if I were to write an executable
application program,how would I know that the program would run in
both 486 and Pentium processor.
