Hi Bryan,

Many thanks for your thoughts. My husband, children and I decided
against evacuating (my husband is British, my children and I are
American) at the beginning of the war. We have family and friends here
that we didn't want to leave. And since we live in the mountains about
12 miles east of Beirut we felt we were safe. We heard the planes and
heard the bombs but thank God nothing landed in our area.

It's been about 10 days since the ceasefire. We're keeping our fingers
crossed that this ceasefire lasts and the war is really over.

The latest info I heard was that Syria was threatening to close the
border, which struck me as the best thing they could do for 75% of
Lebanon, Israel and themselves (Syria).

In the UK we only get news from the BBC World Service (interesting),
the newspapers (rubbish) and from other people on the net.
