Question ID: 758669
Which significant magazines (not comics, fanzines or hobbyist
publications) in any country in the last 50 years have published a
final issue, knowing that it would be their last? So far I've found
Emigre and Marxism Today. The usual case is that magazines are
cancelled without having a chance to say goodbye to their readers. Are
there any others who have had that opportunity?

Hello andrewlos-ga,

How many magazines would you consider to be a satisfactory answer?
What information are you looking for regarding the magazines we find?
Thanks.

I am continuing to look and have found a very short list of magazines
for you. Will you accept only a few as an answer?

I apologize. Shortly after I posted I became distracted by matters
that were beyond my control. I must abandon this effort and leave it
open for someone else.

Good luck;

I'd like to see a minimum of four for the full amount - and I'd like
to know what each magazine was, how they demonstrated in their final
edition that they wouldn't be printing any others (just "they all knew
internally but didn't put anything in the magazine" isn't enough),
what kind of sign-offs they did for their readers. I know that Picture
Post published the same image in their last edition as their first -
that kind of thing is sufficient evidence.

There is no answer at this time.

Life, I believe. But the seem to be back now as newspaper supplements.
