This number is based on the 2002 Economic Census and was pubished in November 2004.

in the US. There are also figures for 2002, 2003 and 2004 which give
the number of dealers that do not employ people (i.e one-person
operations).

These figures could be of interest, but I'm really looking to figure
out how many dealers there are in total, and I'd like to have more
recent data than 2002-2004...
