Hello keptn,
According to EyeForEnergy.com (and a couple of others) MGx, LLC, as of
8/15/02, has acquired the rights to the only ducted fan wind tubine on
the market.
They say "MGx, LLC has acquired rights to the only commercially
available ducted fan wind turbine, the Wind Electric, Inc - LIM (Light
Industrial Mill) in the world today."
Also according to this source "the LIM is a complementary lift,
concentrating collector, converging diffuse air masses into a smooth
laminar flow through a venturi section. The LIM utilizes high gauss
Neodymium magnets in a permanent magnet, high power bandwidth
generator to produce power at wind speeds below 15 mph and high wind
speeds"

There is considerable information about the technology available. I
found these sites useful (albeit commercial in nature):

http://mgx.com/FAQ/FAQ.htm

There is precious little other non-biased information/research on the
Internet at this time - I know, I beat this question up pretty
thoroughly. I did find a related technology that might be of interest
to you: the vertical axis wind turbine. At the site referenced here
you can not only learn more about the technology, but, until 11/1/02,
sign up for a "no expense" testing program. This may be a marketing
ploy, I can't say for sure, but it might be worth examining further if
you have any interest in this type of system:

Most effective Google search used: "ducted fan" "power generation"
wind
Most effective Ixquick search: "wind power generation" +rooftop
Thanks for your question. Please ask for clarification if I can be of
further assistance.
