Well of course, good carpeting, if well cared for, might last ten
years or more. So it will depend greatly on how good the carpet is
when it's first installed, and on how much care the tennants exercise.
If the renters tend to be mainly very thoughtful and well behaved,
then perhaps once every few years is in order. If the renters are
mainly transient party animals, then maybe it'll be fit for replacing
every time the apartment is vacated, which could be on a scale of only
months for some people.
Now, I say "fit" for replacement on the premise that it'd be pretty
much worn out, or at least severely damaged in certain places, due to
negligence. If a landlord is in the business of renting mainly to
people who are transient, and then perhaps not so selective about
their surroundings, it's possible the carpet could be to everyone's
satisfaction, even if damaged, for several years at a stretch. |
