Ricky 'The Guvnor' Page is in turmoil as his colleagie Lewis Plummer reckons an apple pie is a cake but he says an apple pie is a pie. Who is right? |

Nelson is right, there is no question: it is a pie: "dish baked in pastry-lined pan often with a pastry top" wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn A cake is basically through and through pastry, even if an upside-down apple cake has pieces of apple in it. |

Apple pie is made from pie dough and has a loose filling, it is most certainly a pie. |
