Question ID: 759489
THis question is just to ask how much I should offer for a GA
researcher to find me a new 2006 Toyota Prius.

I have chosen a color and option package. I would like someone to
find me the car I want from 2 or 3 reputable dealers, "close" to where
I live (San Jose, CA), for no more than MSRP. I'd accept up to a
month or so on a waiting list.

So, I guess I have 2 questions:

1. Is this question suitable for Google Answers?
2. How much should I offer for this question?

Thanks,
J.

My credit card company apparently doesn't like Google Answers. My
question was previously locked by a researcher, but no answer was
posted. (Maybe due to my CC being declined?) Apparently my CC
company put a hold on my account for "suspicious activity". I've
since authorized Google Answers on my card, so everything is fine now.

Thanks for the link. FINDING a dealer isn't the problem. My local
dealer is quoting a 6 - 9 month waiting list, but I'm looking for a
car sooner. I'll be posting a question soon.

Well, I guess I was wrong when I said my local dealer was quoting a 6
- 9 month waiting list. This was true 5 - 6 months ago. But in just
calling 2 local dealers yesterday, both were quoting 2 - 8 weeks only.
So I guess I won't need to be asking for GA help. Thanks for this
info for this question, however!

Here's a "find me a car" question that was posted with a fee of $75.
Although it was not answered, there were obviously some serious
efforts made (keep in mind that the fee isn't collected unless an
answer is posted):

A family friend had the same problem, she wanted to get rid of her SUV
and get a prius. Turns out she bought one on Ebay and avoided the
wait. You could try that and drive to the dealership and get it, or
get it delivered. I believe the cost for a delivery is roughly $900
from the DFW Area to Los Angeles, not sure how far that is from San
Jose
