I got my first job offer in a big company and I guess I am paranoid. My question might be stupid but like I said I am paranoid and I need some assurance. I went to give my drug test today. These were the tests requested by the employer: 1) 5 Panel PSC collection 2) 3 Party Collection I went to the lab. I washed my hands with soap. Got the sample urine in the container. When I was leaving the rest room, I noticed my hair had fallen in the urine. Without thinking I put my fingers in the urine and took out the hair. YIKES but it was a impulsive reaction. I did'nt think about it much but then I started thinking - By doing that Did I contaminate the urine sample. I had washed my hands with soap and dried it - so what is the possibility that the soap got in the sample. Tell me I'm just being paranoid. Thanks |

Even if soap did get in the sample, it's not likely that a drug test is looking for soap. Such tests typically detect metabolites that are associated with the use of certain mind-altering substances. Soap isn't likely to matter. |

Most drug tests are run with yes/no indicators. Meaning that an intesive search of all chemicals of the sample is not done, just an indicator if certain chemical markers are present. So the only way to really ruin a sample is to place a caustic chemical in it that would destroy or alter the other chemical markers. Most likely it wont effect a thing. Good luck in getting the job! |
