Question ID: 759855
What is the classical music used in the black and white Levi advert, where a young
man is shown to go to the trouble of smuggling a pair of jeans into
Russia?

He is shown standing in what appears to be a line at customs, while
some military men and their dog(s) walk past him.

Another website said this was Levi advert #65 though I don't know if
that's correct or not.

If it were played on a keyboard, the melody would sound something like:

A1 C1 E1 A2 C2 A2 E1 C1 A1 C1 E1 A2 C2 A2

Hello.

The piece was an original composition by Karl Jenkins and Mike Ratledge.

From Levi.com:

"RUSSIA
We open with our hero arriving at a Russian train station which is
full of armed guards. Nervously, he's taken to a desk where a customs
officer search his suitcase but finds nothing. They let him go, and he
continues his journey through the busy streets until, relieved, he
enters an apartment. He opens the suitcase and unwraps a paper wrapper
containing what the officer had been searching for: a pair of Levi's
jeans.

Thank you. Does it appear to be available for commercial sale
anywhere? (other than emailing Karl Jenkins to ask, which I will do
anyway)

Clarification of Answer by juggler-ga on 27 Aug 2006 01:53 PDT
Jenkins has released some of his commercial compositions, such the
famous De Beers "A Diamond is Forever" music (also known as
"Palladio"), on compact disc. See:

Unfortunately, the Levi's piece doesn't appear to be on the CD.
However, it's best to check with Karl Jenkins Music Ltd directly, as
they may be able to steer you in the right direct. Good luck!
