I am looking for a list of Phone numbers, e-mails, or websites of all
the party or event planners that could potentially hire an a cappella
group in the greater Massachusetts area i.e Amherst MA, Hartford, Ct,
Southern vermont and Boston area. Also there must not be a fee to
register with them. I also looking for Venues in the western
Massachusettes area, that could potentially hire an a cappella group.
For example, no smokey biker bars that usually hire rock bands. If you
have any further questions please feel free to ask for clarifacation.

Hello aroz21-ga,

I agree with myoarin-ga?s comment that event planners are not likely
to hire an a cappella group based on a listing in a directory. His
suggestions are a great start for brainstorming how you could approach
finding gigs.

I notice that you have some competition from other groups. Just the
Five Colleges in your immediate area have 30 groups listed in the
Collegiate A Cappella Group Directory. There are many more in the
geographic area you specified.

Collegiate A Cappella Group Directory

University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA) ? 9 groups
Amherst College (Amherst, MA) ? 8 groups
Mount Holyoke (South Hadley, MA) ? 6 groups
Smith College (Northampton, MA) ? 6 groups
Hampshire College (Amherst, MA) ? 0 groups

I suggest that you change your question to help you identify possible
target audiences and ways to approach them. Would this meet your
needs?

I look forward to your clarification.

Yes a comprehensive list of target audiences and ways to approach them

Hi,
You might add something about your group's size, style and repertoire.
King's Singers, Comedian Harmonists, Swingle Singers, ...?

Our website is www.dynamicsacappella.com. This should give you all the
information you need about our group. I hope this helps.

Thanks, looks good. I was betting UMass over Amherst. :-)

I can't really help answer your question. I rather imagine that the
people that would like the Dynamics don't go to event planners to find
entertainment, and maybe not to internet.
Do you pass out handbills at your concerts, advertise in the alumni
magazine (get it do an article on you), town magazines in the area,
contact local politicians and your Congressman/woman? They need
entertainers and need to show support and connection with UMass. Have
you contact with similar college groups and maybe could find out how
they solicit gigs?
Those weren't really questions, so don't bother to reply.

Good luck!

Wow, I didn't know about all the competition.

What about holding a Western Mass Eisteddfod?
