Hello-- I have researched your question and found that there is no limit as to how many times an individual may be married in the state of Texas, providing he/she is 1) not married to more than one person simultaneously, and 2) divorces from a previous spouse prior to marrying another individual. Common law marriages are also legal in Texas. You may read about the legalities of common law marriages at http://www.texasfamilylawinfo.com/common_law_marriage.htm You may read about specific requirements in Texas law to get married and obtain a marriage license. The link is http://www.weddingvendors.com/marriage_license_laws/Texas/ You may read about different legislation introduced in the Texas state legislature, including recent legislation introduced regarding marriage law. The link is http://www.lambdalegal.org/cgi-bin/iowa/states/record?record=43 To conduct this research, I used the following search terms: "texas marriage law," I hope this helps! darrel-ga |
