I have been told a story, Is it true? Following a bad day on the polo field when his/her horse performed rather badly, a member of the British Royal family poured petrol/gasoline over the horse and set it alight. I cannot believe any Englishman would do this to a horse whatever the provocation. But the Royal Family has many foreigners in it. So what is the truth behind this story? Reguards Kemlo | |

Polo players use more than one pony in a match. The story seems very, very unlikely. He could have changed ponies, if one was indisposed, and wouldn't have to get upset about it. A player must change ponies after each chukka. Take it from me, I am an expert, once saw a match almost 40 years ago. ;-) |

It is very difficult, if not impossible, to prove that something did not happen. However, an incident like the one described, if true, would surely cause widespread outrage, and I'd expect to see massive media coverage of such a story. Since there doesn't appear to be such media coverage, it seems likely that this is nothing more than a rumor. |

Found It This gorgeously dressed, learned Prince Charming with a magnetic personality was also 'sinister beyond belief'. Disappointed with a particular pony after a polo match, he doused the animal with petrol and set fire to it! Not quite prince Charles |
