I am looking for a specific website that I previously found and can't
seem to find again. It was a page containing advice on writing and
publishing a novel. Some specific tibits of advice included avoiding
wasting time with short stories, that the author couldn't think of a
worse idea than a new writer spending many years writing one book,
advice for parsing the writing of a novel into one year, the
suggestion that one hand out 2 fake first chapters and your real one
and ask readers to rate them, etc.
I know there are a lot of websites out there that give advice on
writing, but I'd be grateful to find this particular one again. I
think it was on a site that published some e-books or e-samples of new
author's work.
Can you find this website for me?

Could this be the website you're after? Here's an article on writing a
novel in one year: http://www.absolutewrite.com/novels/how_to_write_your_novel.htm
And if you click on the pink "Novels" button at the top of the page,
a slew of other articles on novel writing may be found.

Let me know if this is the correct website, or if I should continue the search.

Just a free comment: here are a couple of early questions with
answers that may interest you:
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=505735
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=758362
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=531032
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=461866
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=366617

I did that the hard way. If you copy and paste the following line in
the search box below, you should get all five questions:

505735 OR 758362 OR 531032 OR 461866 OR 366617

Some of them have links to the sort of websites you may want.

Good luck
