Howdy deanalp-ga,

The Coffee Geek website provides us with how much finely ground coffee
is needed to make a shot of espresso.
http://www.coffeegeek.com/opinions/markprince/07-20-2004

"Espresso: the coffee beverage produced by an espresso machine. This
Italian word describes a beverage made from 7 grams of finely ground
coffee, producing 1.5 ounces of extracted beverage ..."

If your pound of coffee beans yields around a pound of finely ground
coffee, then that translates into 454 grams of ground coffee.

The CalorieLab website gives us the conversion of pounds to grams.
http://calorielab.com/faq/idx/0/019/article/How_many_grams_are_in_a_pound.html

"There are 454 grams in a pound ...""

454 grams divided by the 7 grams needed for each shot, yields us
around 65 shots of espresso per pound of finely ground coffee.

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.
