Question ID: 760727
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2000, it has Jeep's own CD player in it.
This is the single CD/radio/cassette player *without* the multichanger
in the boot.
I would like to listen to some podcast material which I download in
MP3 format. I create an CD using Sonic RecordNow. I use the option
to create an Audio CD, and RecordNow changes the format of the MP3
accordingly. (A 30Mb MP3 file pretty much fills a CD, so its not just
copying the MP3 to the CD) The CD plays fine in my girlfriend's Mini,
but will not play in my Jeep.
Are there any tools which do a better job of creating a genuine CD
from an MP3 file (i.e. do something different than RecordNow) such
that they might play in my Jeep?

Hi!!

I do not know Sonic Record Now, but I use Burn4Free, the only thing
you need to do is to Ad the mp3 files and select the Burn Audio CD.
Sometimes the problem regarding reading troubles of CD-Rs is related
to the speed used to burn the CD so try reducing the burn speed to 4x
or 8x. To do that with Burn4Free go to Tools --> Preferences --> Data
Cd/DVD Writter Settings --> Drive Speed --> change the speed to the
lowest (4x).

pmdpmd-ga,

Older CD players are not always able to play audio files in MP3
format. If yours is one of them, and it sounds like that may be the
case, the solution is to first convert the files to WAV format, and
then burn them onto the CD instead of burning the MP3 files directly.
I have to do this myself in order to play CDs in my car, which has an
older Clarion CD player, as well as on an older style boombox. If you
believe this is your problem and that information on how to do this
would answer your question, let me know and I'll be happy to provide
it.

Best,
Byrd-ga
