My 18 year daughter has completed A levels (in the UK) in Italian,
Economics and Politics (June 2006 Grades ABB).

She is taking a year off from studying and will be starting work
experience with an international bank in London. At the same time she
will be volunteering on a weekly basis in a hospital and
preparing for her SAT's and SAT II's.

To which colleges should she apply in order to maximise her chances of
acceptance at medical school? Which colleges can she apply to with
these grades? Is her ambition of going to medical school in the US
realistic? Is there anything she can do to improve her chances?

The best bet is not to skip a year-- that's gonna put her behind everyone else.
