I am a teacher working with Korean students. I use desktop publishing software (either Xpress or InDesign; I have access to both) to lay out flash cards. I need to import a list from a text file written in Korean characters into an Xpress or InDesign file--either one would work. InDesign has Korean fonts and will allow me to type in Korean, but it won't recognize the Korean text. It imports each character as a "?" Any guidance about how to get these Korean words into the file? Thanks so much, lotf629 |

You might want to run your InDesign under Korean version of Windows XP. The CS version of InDesign didn't support Korean lanugage nativly. In CS2, Korean version is available. But it seems that you are looking for english user interface. There's a plug-in for CS called "InKorean" which enables users to do some specific actions handling Korean documents. But you can still use Korean if you had the windows XP Korean version. (for Macintosh, you just need to activate the multi-language option) The square appears because it didn't recongnize the fonts. |
