"Who are the top 50 colleges and universities represented by players in
the NFL based on 2005 rosters?"

The big athletic conferences have the size, schedule, resources and
hype machine to attract and promote their players. Big Ten, Pac 10,
Big 12, SEC, WAC, Big East, ND will dominate on NFL rosters. Their
players are on TV more, in most bowl games and all star games. The
media will cover them far more than mid-majors and small schools. NFL
teams prefer players who played college ball nearby. The fans make an
easy connection. Fewer problems for the player to adapt. Most NFL
coachs are from the big conferences as well.
