Question ID: 761891
I have been searching for the title of a movie I saw when I was about
5 or 6 at a drive-in theatre. That would have been 1969 or 1970. It
was about a large beast that mostly looked like a human with very long
arms that was captured, caged and then escaped. I recall after it
escaped the movie was in a swamp-land setting where the beast killed
people in brutal ways. One scene I recall is it ripping either a leg
or an arm off a man and beating him to death with it. I have searched
every movie from 1961-1972 in the Horror list on Wikipedia and see
nothing that describes that. I also searched sites by type of death
scenes in movies. Do you have any idea what movie that would be?

A sixties exploitation film called "The Monster and the Stripper" has
a scene in which a humanoid, Bigfoot-like swamp monster rips a man's
arm off and beats the man to death with the arm.

Do any of these scenes look familiar?

Apparently "The Monster and the Stripper" is also known as "The Exotic
Ones." Here's a summary of the plot:

"THE EXOTIC ONES (68) aka Monster and the Stripper. Blood and pasties
galore in this ultrarare drive-in masterpiece from Nashville's first
family of film, the Ormonds! An Okeefenokee Swamp Thing (played by
rockabilly rebel Sleepy La Beef) is captured and put on display at a
sleazy Bourbon Street strip club. He packs 'em in by tearing apart
chickens and drinking their blood! For real! See Sleepy rip off a
redneck's arm and beat him to death with the bloody stump! See
'Titania' the big-boned stripper with the flaming tassels! See a
toothless guy forced to drink from a spitoon! See a sexy dressing room
catfight!"

What do you think? Is this your movie?

Well, I don't recall the strip club scene, but who knows with as young
as I was. I remember when he ripped the guy's arm off he had his foot
on his body holding him down as he tore it off. I am curious to know
if you saw the movie and/or would know if that was the case in the
movie you've referenced. It seemed the cage was actually in the
swampland at some point. As far as the scenes, the hunters/guys look
kinda familiar. I do remember him drinking the chickens' blood now!
Unless there is a similar movie, this must be it. That's amazing!
Thanks so much. Just one of those things in the back of my mind since
about age 5.

Yep, I have seen "The Monster and the Stripper." As I recall, the
arm-tearing scene does occur as you've described, with the swamp
monster standing on the victim to hold him down while he yanks the arm
off.

If this would be a fully satisfactory answer to your question, I'll be
glad to post it as your official answer and collect the fee. If you
are uncertain, and would like additional suggestions from other
Researchers, I can leave the question open.

Thanks for accepting my suggestion as the official answer to your question!

I'm not a bit surprised that someone who saw "The Monster and the
Stripper" as a child would remember the monster more than the
stripper. After all, from a kid's standpoint, drinking chicken blood
and pulling arms off people is way cooler than twirling tassels. :-D

If you're interested in seeing this again, it does exist on DVD:
