Several years ago, I remember reading about a letter that Andrew Jackson's mother wrote him after he was elected president. Essentially, she said that supporters had the right, as "good friends," to expect appropriate behavior and support. It was an interesting approach--that friends had the "right" to expect behavior, and I'm interested in that letter. |
