Hi, Here are some demographic factors that influence peoples political views and likelihood they will vote: 1. Age 2. Income 3. Education 4. Religion 5. Union membership 6. Membership in civic organizations 7. Occupation 8. Place of residence 9. Marital status 10. Home ownership 11. Number of children 12. Whether parents voted and their political viewpoint 13. How long a person has lived somewhere 14. Race or ethnic background 15. A persons sex The factors that have influenced me the most are probably age (I became of voting age during the Vietnam War, when political activism was very high among young adults), profession (I spent much of my adult life as a journalist, which kept me in touch with political issues) and religion (my faith has given me an idealism that has led to a generally liberal voting pattern). This answer was based on personal knowledge and a background that includes a degree in political science. You can also find other information by following links using the Google search term of voting demographics (without the quotes). ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=voting+demographics&btnG=Google+Search Best wishes, mvguy |
