If you had not installed WinXP after quick formating your hard drive
then there are alot of free solutions for recovering your data.
Installing WinXP on your hard drive means that you wrote data on the
area where your previous data existed. This means that it is almost
impossible to recover your previous data with a free software
solution.

There are alternate solutions, companies that can try to get your old
data back by using hardware solutions. These type of solutions though
are very expensive. It depends on how critical and important your
previous data is to you!
