we operate a chain of internet cafes and are looking for a way to get
a report of the most popular websites our clients use.

Is there an off the shelf solution that already exist that we could
install on all the machine that would report back to one source?

You could install one central proxy server for all your computers
which could be gathering the information you want.

The free proxy SQUID is able to perform this task, and if you install
the correct plugins, you will be able to visualize all the traffic...
