i have a 1971 fiat 850 spider, and i over heated and water comes out
the carb whin i try to start it.  i notas that a 850 duznot have a
intake manafold, the carb sits on the head.   could some one tell me
if maby it is just a head gasket or it is the head that it cracked?  
i checked the compresion and starting from the front of the car the
cyclenders are 170lbs, 155lbs, 60lbs and 175lbs in each cyclender.   i
have had cars with blown head gaskets befor but theres no water in the
oil?  it just comes out the carb. i dont want to work on it if it is a
bad head or block.   so the question is: head gasket, head or block
that went bad whin i over heated?  whin i was driving it last a man
folowing me said it was pumping out WHITE smoke.  maby steem?    HELP!

I would take the head off. If it is a gasket, you should be able to
tell. If not, you haven't lost anything but a little time and you will
satisfy your curiosity. I hope it is just a gasket.
