Hi Bryan! Based on the following web pages, Beta Blockers indeed cause nasal congestion. "Birth control pills, blood pressure medicines called beta-blockers, and Viagra can cause increased nasal congestion." The American Academy of Otolaryngology -- Head and Neck Surgery http://www.entnet.org/healthinfo/nose/Nose.cfm "Other medications that may cause rhinitis include oral contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy, and some blood pressure medications, including beta-blockers and vasodilators." New York Methodist Hospital http://www.nym.org/healthinfo/docs/077/doc77.html "Some medications can cause nonallergic rhinitis. These include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin and ibuprofen, and blood pressure (hypertension) medications, such as beta blockers." Mayo CLinic http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/nonallergic-rhinitis/DS00809/DSECTION=3 Search terms used: "Beta Blockers" "nasal congestion" I hope this would help you in your research. Brilliant, Easterangel, as always. Very many thanks! I haven't seen quite so much of you recently ... I was worried in case you had made your fortune without telling or sharing it with me. All the Best Bryan |

NOw I can finally add my comment. Even asperin can cause nasal congestion when properly taken. Just take two for desired effect. ;-) |

Here is my considered opinion: Any medication in pill form can cause nasal congestion if you stick it up your nose instead of swallowing it. |

Many thanks also to my two learned friends for their comments. Sorry, Pink, you should have been much faster with the locking mechanism ... Maybe yours needs oiling? Bryan |

Kemlo, Let's keep this above the belt, to be on the safe side, above the collar. I think Bryan is very touchy about maintaining propriety on his questions. That was why I was trying to be so subtle, not like that Midwestern Redhead, but out there people seem to be more direct about telling you where to put it. Myo |
