We have VOIP telephone system in our office. Provider of the service
used to be ICG , then Mpower and now Telepacific . They have the server
and we have 7960 hand sets that is connected to Cisco switch and then
to a Cisco router ( our own hardware ) and then to service provider T1
box called ADITC.
Several days ago we lost power and as we recovered , we called help
desk . The help desk told us to set one of the handsets to factory
setting.
Once we did that we could not get the hand to set up mode any more. I asked
our tech to explain what he has experienced. We would like to know if
you have a solution to fix our hand set. When we got the handset it
was SIP, ICG changed it to SKINNY and when provider changed hand ,
they changed it to SIP again.
We are not familiar with OS and how we can updated.
The service provider claims they can not fix our issue and we have to call Cisco.
Our tech comments is as follow:
When I power on the unit, the top screen says, "universal application
loader" and the bottom says, "configuring vlan," then it goes to
"configuring IP," for about 5 minutes, then it goes to "protocol
application invalid." What does this mean? Can someone please help?
and who can fix it
I donot fully understand what Cisco wants us to do - see attached
