My hands go extremely wrinkly very quickly (after a few minutes of
water exposure). This can happen just from running my hands under a
tap, or even from getting sweaty palms. I'm 29, smoke way too much,
have a poor diet and I am pretty unfit, but I have only recently begun
to notice my skin going wrinkly so quickly. This has been going for
the last few months and it seems to not be abating.

I have not moved to a new water area, the only thing I can think may
be causing this, is that I switched to a liquid soap some 2 or 3
months ago (have tried several brands including eco brands that
contain no additives).

I cannot find a single thing on the web that describe my problem,
other than descriptions of they skin wrinkles (sebum layer etc.). Any
help would be most appreciated.

Along with many more serious forms of damage, smoking reduces the
elasticity of skin. That is a possible cause of your problem.

Thanks, but that's not really what I was after. Ideally would be good
to read someone else who has had a similar problem, and what
diagnosis/resolution was given.

Thanks anyway.

If this is really bothering you, I suggest that you see a
dermatologist. But be prepared for a lecture about the smoking.

Hey! I have the same thing happening to me. I haven't gotten it
diagnosed though. I am 19 and I don't smoke so I know it has nothing
to do with that, but like you, after a few minutes underwater my hands
go completely wrinkly and they hurt. The same thing tends to happen if
they get sweaty, and it takes hours for the wrinkles to go away! Also
the palms of my hands now have a weird white design on them! Sorry I
don't know what it is but I'm glad I'm not crazy cause I thought I was
the only one with this problem!!
