Hi All,

I will spending a considerable amount of time overseas in the coming
months, and I need a viable way to check my postal mail. I ran across
Direct Email Express - it seems they have a pretty nifty service
wherein they scan your postal mail and email you the images.

Take a look,

http://www.directemailexpress.com/services/online_po_box.html

I was wondering if,

a) there were any competitors that I might be able to check out in
terms of service and price?

b) if there are any independent testimonials available?

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
vlad

Greetings vlad,

I did some research on your question and came up with one other
company that offers a service similar to that of the example you gave.
The company I found is called "Paperless POBox.com"
(http://www.paperlesspobox.com). Doing a bit of comparing between
their service and that of "Direct Email Express", I found the
following interesting points:

The online PO box feature of Direct Email Express is an "add-on" to
their standard account types. You must first purchase a standard
ePostal account for $7.95 per month, then pay the additional $39.95
per month for the scanning services (black and white only as far as I
can tell). It includes 500 images with additional billed @ 100 for
$10.00 per.

Paperless POBox on the other hand offers it's services as a
stand-alone product and starts at $29.95 per month for black and white
or goes to $39.95 per month for color images. They also allow 500
images with additional billed @ 100 for $9.95 (B/W) or $12.95 (color)
per. However, PPOBox allows you to add additional services to your
account which enhance the basic service such as eliminating Junk Mail
which will scan only first-class mail and reduce the number of scanned
images per month ($4.95/month), CD-Rom Archival ($14.95/month) and
more.

Both services appear to function in pretty much the same way. It looks
like you've done research on Direct Email Express, so I won't go into
details on how they both work - the big differences seem to be in
pricing structure and the additional services offered.

Paperless POBox has examples of their scanned correspondence available
at their website here:
http://www.paperlesspobox.com/servlet/HomeServlet?gotopage=239

You mentioned testimonials in your question, and while I didn't find
any readily available on their website, they do rotate blurbs
throughout their site from existing customers, so I imagine they would
be more than willing to provide you with complete transcripts from
their written testimonials if you were interested.

I hope that answers your question. I was glad to be of assistance and
please ask for clarification if you need any additional assistance.

Sincerely,
PWizard
