I'm looking for the name of a song inspired by 9/11, and (I believe)
it came out shortly after 9/11/01. It begins appearing to be yet
another break-up song where the guy says he won't be coming home
again, but at the end it is revealed that he's calling from the plane
to say gooodbye. Anyone know the song name? |

Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, none of the songs at
http://www.shanksvillememorial.com/flight93songs.html were the one I'm
trying to identify.
If I remember correctly, it had a country "style", and (I believe) was
sung by a woman. It seemed to be mainstream country, perhaps almost a
soft-rock ballad feel.
What captured my imagination was that the song caught me by surprise
toward the end when it became clear that the man and woman weren't
breaking up, but instead, his plane was going down . . . and she was
desperately wanting more time.
I initially thought it was Diamond Rio's "One More Day", but that's
not the song, either.

These are some great leads, but again unfortunately none of the songs
at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/inspirationny are the song I'm trying
to find. The key to the song was it's misdirection: it starts out
leading the listener to believe that the guy is calling his gal to
tell her their relationship is over, as if he were breaking up with
her, and she appropriately forlorn. But then toward the end of the
song, it is revelaed that he actualy still loves her very much but the
plane is going down, and he must say goodbye.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
Thanks again for looking into this.

I don't recall lyrics, but I *believe* it was song by a woman, and she
is at home, receives the call.
I know my description is vague, but any help is appreciated!
