Question ID: 764524
where can i find out,
how to make or where to buy,
a program that can delete information from a cd?

If the solution involves code writing i would prefer it to be in Perl.
Although that isnt necessary.

Unless they are Rewritable CDs, as far as I know, the information
can't be erased once burned (can a Researcher confirm/disprove this?).
Only other surefire way of erasing the info is physically destroying
the disc.

Reformating a CD RW erases all the info not just the TOC.

When you 'erase' on a hard drive for instance, you are just removing
the item from the Table of Contents...

But...

On a CDRW if you 'reformat' you are acutally erasing all the info and
NOT just the TOC. (ie it is secure)

In xp goto computer and right click on the drive and choose 'format'

Do you know if there is any way to have a computer program format the
rewritable cd automatically?
