I need statistics about how sales departments in a company relate to
the rest of the organisation. I'm interested in UK data, or US data as
a second choice. I don't want data from any other country. I'm most
interested in data from businesses that sell to other businesses, not
direct to consumers. The kind of statistics I'm looking for include:
- opinion survey data - what sales people think of the rest of the
business, or what people in businesses think about their sales teams
etc
- statistics about sales teams - what percentage are involved in other
activities, not just selling products, how big sales teams are
relative to the rest of the organisation etc
- numerical negative impact if the sales team is not aligned with the
rest of the business etc
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

Can't help you, but I am a bit curious: I'm guessing that you're doing
this to gain knowledge that will be applicable to a particular
company. If that' s the case, why do you assume that data from the UK
and US is going to be more representative of the company you're trying
to get insight into? My first hunch would have been to limit the
search by industry, not geography.
