Question ID: 76514
I asked a company to register my website www.savinginvestments.com
with google so that it can be found in searches. This was several
months ago, however the site doesn't seem to come up in any google
search. Is there something else I need to do?
I think the site was submitted to dmoz.org several times..would this
cause it to be kicked off the google search engine?
The current site is a holding page however I plan to launch the full
site with new information shortly

While I can't speak for Google, in my humble opinion you probably
answered your own question with that last comment. In general, Google
prefers to "discover" pages by itself via links from other sites it
considers highly. Submitting a blank placeholder page will not only
not get you listed in Google, but
may even put your site on a "black list" for the future.

Although the highly sophisticated algorithms behind the Google
PageRank system are always changing, the best strategy for getting
listed in Google remains the same: create a page with relevant
content, and get other quality sites to link to it.

An entire website that consists of 63 words, one image and an email
link will not look like a site worth indexing to some search engines.
It won't be blacklisted.

Dmoz editors would definitely not list it as it is.
