ooooh child,

granny is gearin' up to write a review of Valerie Carter's "Just a
Stone's Throw Away" c. 1977 and she needs lyrics, lyrics, lyrics.
she's in possession of both the album and tape but, blast it anyhow,
no lyrics on either.

she's mainly interested in Carter's collaboration on "Back to Blue
Some More" with Lowell George, but if you could scare up a site with
*all* the lyrics on this album, she'd be *eternally* grateful. those
lines in the question title {if not misheard song lyrics} should get
you started. also somethin' about a "lonely cafe" in the song.

tracks:

{side a}
ooh child
ringin doorbells in the rain
heartache
face of appalachia
so, so happy

{side b}

a stone's throw away
cowboy angel
city lights
back to blue some more

psstt, researchers, what say we give "big willie-gar" a crack at this
one and see if lyric-findin' is this thang? it ain't no X-files happenin'
but the boy has a clever answerin' style that appeals to granny's
sense of the absurd. otherwise, could one of you professional
lyric-sniffers chase this one done for me, huh? you guys are really the
nuts-and-bolts of this here outfit, doncha know!

thanks ever so much!

Failed I'm afraid. Obviously I'm not a qualified lyric sniffer yet -
could be something to do with my broken nose and cloth ear.

Over to the rest of you.

granny also took a whack at lookin' for these but I guess we'd better
leave this task for the PLS group. don't know how they find these
thangs, but dang if they don't pull 'em outta some magic hat of
theirs!

didn't mean to lasso you into this one, dear boy. granny's bettin'
you don't have a cloth ear, though, or you wouldn't even know what
that was. next time, my brotha ... granny has many X files thangs
happenin' to her on a daily basis so she'll be callin' on you again.

nauster: thanks for runnin' down that album listing and consider it
verified, but it ain't no 3-star record ... eiiiyyh, critics! granny
usually moseys over to this place since she has a German ear and
*usually* agrees with their recs:
