My wife of 11mths sued me for separation in San Francisco (where she is not resident for the required 3mths). We lived and I still live in San Mateo. My earnings are 5X hers and she's gold digging. What are the relative advantages of the Family Law Divorce court rules for her and me in the two counties - this situation must occur frequently? (e.g I believe in San Mateo attorney's fees come from community property first while in SF they come from the richer spouse). Are there some similar divorce settlements on record to review? (please provide copies or let me know how to get copies) |

trayn-ga , I just went thru a two and a half year divorce ,thet will try to run you out of money then make you give up everything, are there children involved???of the property involved who owned what before the marriage?what was aquired during the marriage and have you and your wife both worked and how much do each of you make ,also was one party committing adultry?and is there any chance of this situation being worked out calmly which would be in both your interests. If not my advice if to be agressive keep them back on there heels, stay honest on all answers under testimoney, look up driveing records ,criminal records look for character witnesses for you and againsted heryou best be prepared my wife told me after she had an atty sitting there and me none 6that she was going to take my kids, all my money,my house, cars etc and everything else she could get so i went and got started by the time i got done with her she was in a livein rehab place for drugs,i have custody of both my teenage daughters and she is supposed to be paying me child support,i got the house and almost all my retirement except 9,000 worth, her life spiraled down after that she got caught driving on no licence and then got caught for a dui with one of my kids in the carwhich i went and recovered so if you need help in a divorce i have been there done thatand came out on top rare for a man these days,Jim |

I looked into this a bit when you posted it and I couldn't find anything on specific differences. However, you do have to be a resident to file in the court, so you could just have it thrown out and make her refile in the other county. What she did was illegal and you should fight it. |
