If money were no object, what kind of car would pafalafa-ga drive? Hope this isn't too personal. :) |

km-ga, For me, it almost IS the case that money is "no object". That is, it's not an object, or a thing, that I possess to any great degree. But as a New Yorker born and bred, my heart is with the subway system, and if I had a few billion in spare change, I'd spend it fixing up mass, rather than personal, transit. Let's see...cushions on the seats, art on the wall, better signage, and quiet the suckers down. And oh yeah...it would be free to ride, for everyone. As for King Olav and his RR...I didn't know they had a Ronald Reagan over there too! What a world, eh? Anyway, thanks for the thought, and truth be told, I've long had a sinful soft spot for those bannana-yellow Hummers. paf |

If money were no object ... Surely pafalafa's chauffeur (or more probably chauffeuse) would do the driving. |

I'm not so sure. Long before VW advertised with "Fahrvergnügung" (driving pleasure), Rolls-Royce touted itself as an owner-driven car. Come to think of it, once at Oslo airport, I happened to see King Olav V being picked up by his RR, and he did indeed take the wheel. |
