I want a smart solar battery charger. Ideally I could just get some
solar panels that fit my windows and then get some connectors for the
various battery types.

It must have a way to charge AA and AAA batteries, but it'd be nice if
it also allowed me to charge 9v batteries and the battery for my Treo
650 phone.

I bought a portable solar battery charger that charges AA, AAA, C, and
D. However, it seems to have burnt out the two AA batteries that I put
into it.

I need a smart charger that knows to cut off the input from the solar
panels when the battery is mostly full. Continuing to charge batteries
after they're full is a good way to shorten their life considerably
(or just destroy them as was the case here).
