On the StartupBoeing website for startup airlines, they list the 2006 price for new 737-700s at US$54-64m, and the price for new 737-800s at US$66-75m. I would like to know: 1) Are those prices accurate? What would a new airline be likely to pay, versus an established airline buying multiple planes at once? 2) How would that compare to the monthly cost of a dry lease, and what implied interest cost is typically used (for each plane type)? Would this cost vary with the years committed? 3) What is the typical resale value of these jets as they age? (eg. at 1 year, 5 years, 10 years) ? Thanks. |

1) Rack Rates - look at the financials and you can determine the ave revenue generated. 2) I have seen some really creative financing on an asset value of $2.4MM, so I'd assume this would have even more. 3) Typically based on three factors - airframe hours, engine/logistics status, and market demand. Not my specialty - just a hobby. |
