Looking for stats and data on private planes and the Very Light Jet
(VLJ) (one type of VLJ is the Eclipse). In addition to answers on the
below, I would like the url or source of where you found the info.
Government/census/flight association data is prefered to that of other
articles, where possible.

1. What percentage of pilots own their own small planes and use them
for business purposes?

2. What percentage of the flights per year are chartered, and what
percentage are done by major airlines?

3. Are there special/new flying certifications required to fly a VLJ,
or will standard jet certification do?

4. How many flight hours are required to fly for commercial airlines?
In comparison, how many are required to fly for small chartered
services?

5. How much does the current lightest jet on the market weigh, not
including the VLJs out there?
