I Have a real estate salesman's license in California. My license was in between Brokers. I took a client of mine to a house, my client ended up buying the house but she used the listing agent. The listing agent refuses to give me a referral compensation? The listing broker claims that I am out of luck because my license was not with a broker. (it is now) There broker claims I have violated the law even showing a house to my client and claims I will be fined $10,000. and loose my license if I take them to arbitration. My clients will come forward and tell whom ever that I brought her to the house. Am I getting screwed? It was a $1.2m sale. |

Assuming it's 3%, uou lost $36,000 by not writing the deal, even at 1/2 that it's a bundle. If your license was not registered with a Broker, you don't have much of a case, --and have a lot to lose. I'd swallow my lumps and play by the book next time. THe Real Estate industry is dog eat dog, I should know. |
