There is a museum - entrance fee is the price of a pint. http://www.hughsmcr.com/useful_info/oxford_pubs.htm | Most Historic - The Bear (C): has a claim to be not only the oldest but also the smallest pub in Oxford. Hidden away between St. Aldates and High Street, this corner tavern has two tiny, bare wooden rooms. The main room (serving Burton Ale, Adnams Bitter, London Pride) has a very low ceiling. The other's walls and ceiling are completely covered with glass cases of ties, thousands of them, all annotated with their origins. A must to visit, even when it's busy, as it often is. | |
