On Wikipedia, in the article ?The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog?, it says that in the Peanuts comic strip, Snoopy often types the sentence when pretending that he is a famous writer. (Go to www.wikipedia.com, searching for ?The quick brown fox?, and looking at the Trivia section) However, the article does not mention any dates or years in which the phrase is used in his comics. I would like to know in which specific comic strips does the ?quick brown fox? sentence get used? There may be several comic strips that use this sentence, and so listing more than one would be appropriate. Please be specific with years, days, and dates in which a specific Peanuts comic has a mention of the ?quick brown fox? sentence. If only part of the sentence is used, please say so in your reply. Please list as many comic dates as you can, stating if the whole sentence or part of the sentence is used. Links to comics (legally) posted to the web will geatly help. The link to the Wikipedia article is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quick_brown_fox |

According to this newsgroup post, "The quick brown fox jumped over the unfortunate dog" appeared in the "Peanuts" strip of May 27, 1974. Looks as if Snoopy wasn't very good at pangrams. ;-) http://groups.google.com/group/alt.comics.peanuts/browse_frm/thread/e70a999c59637625/cd8fceafe0f77dbf?lnk=st |

As I remember, when Snoopy got his typewriter out to write, he never got beyond the opening line: "It was a dark and stormy night ..." http://www.abc.net.au/centralvic/stories/s904089.htm |
