Finding headhunters for Italy was a relatively easy task, but the
really challenging -- hence difficult -- part, was to find a criterion
to identify the "top" in business, in your own words, "the REALLY good
players".
The first step to achieve it was finding the website of ASSORES -
Associazione Italiana Società di Consulenza Direzionale per la Ricerca
e Selezione del Personale (http://www.assores.it/ ) - Official Italian
association of recruiters and human resources consultants. It has an
affiliates list -- i.e., HR recruiting firms -- with some of which
identify their specialties, among which, of course, head hunting or
executive search. That was quite close to our goal -- however, I
wanted a more specific indicator of the relevance in the industry of
the firms to select.
Thus, I browsed ASSORES publications page
(http://www.assores.it/RassegnaStampa.asp ), looking for an article
related with headhunting or managerial positions, where either a
ranking of headhunters could be found, or people in the business were
interviewed and asked for opinion -- when in articles about a
particular industry people are interviewed, they are typically the top
players. And that was exactly what I found in the article "Executive
search, il manager nel frullatore" (Executive search, the manager in

). In this article dated on April 1st 2006 about the situation of the
managerial market in Italy, several top executives of headhunting
companies are interviewed. Then I only had to find the websites for
