I remember a song that had a police theme, i'm pretty sure it sampled
Voodoo child by hendrix. one part of the lyrics 'put your hands up
against the wall and spread them' if anyone knows the track i'd be
really happy to get some details. it was in the uk charts, but I'm a
bit hazy on when but i think it was sometime in the last 10 years (not
very helpful i know)

Please let me know if this is your song (warning - rough language):

Whoa!! thanks for the warning for the language(its harsh).
unfortunataly i would have heard this on daytime radio or TV so the
language would have been cut. i'll run through it a few times but its
nearly impossible to tell without hendrix's beat. but i'll let you
know. thx

had me thinking for a bit.. totally convinced it wasn't the one, but i
put voodoo child on while i read the lyrics through( minus the beeps),
and i can now say without doubt thats my answer. thanks pink your 2
for 2 on my music questions this week :)

Its definatly the track. i've looked around and can't buy it anywhere,
hardly suprising. its probably illegal to sell in most countries, with
all that bad language(honestly its much much better without, a lot
shorter but better). ebay and bargain bins if i want a copy. Anyway
thats my answer. Thankyou

I'm always tickled to be able to help someone identify a song. As
mentioned above, your song is "Got You," by Pharoahe Monch. It first
appeared on the soundtrack of the Denzel Washington film "Training
Day," and has been released in at least four versions, two of which
have a great deal of harsh language.

A1 Got You (Radio Edit) (4:04)
A2 F**k You (Explicit Version) (4:04)
B1 Got You (Instrumental) (4:04)
B2 F**k You (A Cappella) (3:16)

Discogs: Pharoahe Monch - Got You

The CD single and a vinyl release show up on the used market from time
to time, but the easiest way to get a recording is probably to buy the
"Training Day" soundtrack (as linked above, at Amazon).

Best,
Pink

Many thanks for the five stars and the nice tip! Sorry, but I won't be
coming over to sort your CDs. Can't even sort my own very well. I am a
clutterbug, and I keep telling myself that someday I'll have to
organize all this stuff. Someday never comes. ;-)
