Hello thentzel,

The question you have asked can have a few different types of answers.

I will give you a high end and low end Intel system based on the
setups that Dell supplies. Dell purchases items in massive bulk from
the distributors and sometimes direct from manufacturers. The prices
that Dell receives are unknown but it is likely that the prices shown
here are between 25 and 10% more than the purchase price for Dell.

Intel High end

CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 524
Motherboard MSI 975X Platinum 175
Memory Kingston Value 1GB 116
hard drive 160GB Maxtor SATA2 60
Case Case 20
PSU Tagan TG480-U15 480W 91
DVD NEC ND3550 30
Floppy 3.5 inch 5
Keyboard MicroSoft Keyboard Mouse18
Graphics MSI 256Mb nVidia 7600GT 155
Monitor 19 Inch TFT 80
Windows XP XP Home OEM 88
Assembly 100
Total 1562

Intel Low end

CPU Intel Celeron D326 45
Motherboard MSI P4M890M-IL 75
Memory Kingston Value 256MB 34
hard drive 160GB Maxtor Sata2 60
Case Generic 20
PSU Generic 5
DVD NEC ND 3550 30
Floppy 3.5 inch 5
Keyboard MicroSoft Keyboard Mouse18
Graphics On Board 0
Monitor 15 inch TFT 150
Windows XP XP Home OEM 88

Let me know if this suffices as an answer. If you need any additional
information, let me know and I will do my best to get you the answer
as soon as possible.

Also, I would add that all prices listed above are US dollars.

Keystroke,

I am interested in the prices that OEM/ODMs pay to the manufacturers,
not retail prices. Can you clarify and source your information for
these prices?

I understand that Dell's prices may be lower (and confidential), but I
want a general understanding of average selling prices for the various
components from the manufacturer.

Thanks,
Tim
